Plume: LA-(MC)-ICP-MS Data Processing Software
Plume is a C#-written software designed for the processing of isotope analysis. It was developed by the technical staff and doctoral students of the micro-analysis at the GPMR Lab, China University of Geosciences (Wuhan). Plume supports data reading from instruments such as Neptune Plus, Neoma, and Agilent 8900, along with visualization, isotope data processing, and report export. Plume is available free of charge to the geochemistry community. If you have any new requirements, feel free to contact us.
Plume can be installed on instrument computers to perform real-time, rapid processing of raw data. It enables obtaining final results immediately during the analysis process, which greatly helps geologists assess the isotopic characteristics of their samples and improve the selection of sample points.
Plume supports nearly all kinds of micro-area isotope analysis data processing. Its latest features include isochron dating for LA-ICP-(MC)-MS/MS. It provides data processing and plotting functions for Rb-Sr, Lu-Hf, Re-Os, and Sm-Nd isochrons.
We will continue to update Plume with new features. In the latest version, we have added a calculation scheme for isotope ratio linear regression. This new data processing method is effective for isotope ratio tests with low signal-to-noise ratios, such as sulfur isotope analysis in apatite.
