About Us

We are the Crust-Mantle Interaction and Geodynamics Research Group focused on Earth science, with a main emphasis on Crust-Mantle Interaction and Geodynamics, convergent plate margin magmatism, and planetary science. To obtain quantitative geochemical data, we have established an elemental and isotopic analysis laboratory centered around ICP-MS. Among our key research projects is micro-analysis of element concentration, isotope coomposition, and geochronology based on LA-ICP-MS.

Our group has over 20 years of experience in the development of isotope analysis methods. We have purchased various equipments, including 4 MC-ICP-MS (Neoma, Neptune Plus, and Nu 1700), along with two femtosecond laser ablation systems (New Wave) and three 193 nm excimer laser ablation systems (Geolas series, Coherent). Using these advanced instruments, we have established a series of micro-analysis techniques for both radioactive isotopes and stable isotopes (Sr-Nd-Hf-Pb radioactive isotopes and B-S-Fe-Cu-Zn-Si-Ca-Mg-Ti-Zr-Ba stable isotopes). Due to the long-standing provision of micro-analysis isotope services, we faced a strong need for specialized data processing software to enhance efficiency. As a result, our researchers and doctoral students began developing the relevant data processing software in 2018. We first released Iso-Compass software in 2020. Four years later, we launched a new version of Plume, which further improved the software’s automation and flexibility, while adding isochron dating functionality. In the future, we plan to release even more new features, such as isotope data processing for SIMS.

The leaders of our team are Professor Hu Zhaochu and Researcher Zhang Wen. If you are interested in our software or micro-analysis technologies, please contact us via email.

This software was independently developed by our researchers and is not commercially operated. If you encounter any issues during software use or have new requests or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us.
