The Rb-Sr Isotope System
The Rb-Sr isotope system is an important subject in laser micro-area isochron dating. This chapter provides a detailed introduction on how to use “Plume” to carry out data processing for laser micro-area isochron dating, using the Rb-Sr isotope system as a case study.
1 Data Preparation
Prepare a folder for Rb-Sr isotope data, which includes raw data (in CSV format) containing only the isotope signals tested.

2 Importing Data
Open “Plume” and first set the workspace folder path as “Workspace”, the raw data folder path as “Folder”, and the file type as “File type”. Then, set the sample name list path as “SampleList”.

Finally, select the Hf isotope data processing method by navigating to “Approach” – “Rb-Sr dating-Neoma”. After selecting the method, you can click “Preview” to review the method content.

3 Data Processing
Once the data processing method is confirmed, click “OK” to enter the data processing page.
In the data processing page, verify the signal ranges for each data point, checking the data precision and the accuracy of the reference materials.

4 Data Output
After completing the data verification, select “Export” – “Formatted Export” to use the established export template to export the processed data with the formatting scheme.

Finally, the final formatted data is obtained:
